
Industry experts urge White House to ease restrictions (Travel Market Report)
A group of 29 major airlines and industry members are urging the Biden administration to lift pre-departure covid-19 testing requirements for vaccinated travelers entering the United States. The group, which includes the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Airlines for America, and other industry groups, believe that the restrictions are “no longer justified by current circumstances,” and the recovery of the travel and aviation industry depend on removing these restrictions.
The American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) also sent a letter to the White House, echoing these recommendations, and highlighted that many foreign countries have already taken these steps to remove pre-departure testing requirements.

A year ago, many international destinations were closed to tourists, but as vaccination rates rose, we saw the world begin to reopen. While Covid-19 variants recently threatened the resumption of travel, there are still plenty of destinations to travel to in 2022, with only a few restrictions.
IHG announces changes to loyalty program (BTN)
The Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) recently announced changes to its loyalty program that will be implemented in March. The changes include a new reward tier, and the improvement of earning levels across all other tiers.
