CDC Will Not Recommend Domestic Testing
Previous comments from Federal Officials, suggesting a domestic travel test mandate, have caused quite an uproar and panic in the travel industry. According to a recent statement from the CDC, however, the agency will not be recommending mandated point of departure testing for domestic travel at this time.
While the CDC will not recommend a mandate for testing, they are still urging travelers to take precautions to protect themselves and their fellow travelers. The CDC recommends travelers obtain a negative viral test 1 to 3 days prior to travel, as well as 3 to 5 day after returning. The agency also recommends travelers quarantine for 7 days after traveling even with a negative test.
