ExpressJet Ceases Operations
Without evening knowing it, you’ve likely flown on an ExpressJet flight at least once or twice. The regional airline carrier that was previously one of the largest airlines in the U.S., ceased operations at the end of September. ExpressJet operated several flights for American Airlines, Delta and United Airlines, but lost the bid to continue on with United in July of this year to a competitor, CommutAir. The low levels of air travel made it difficult for the carrier to find a new home, which led to the decision for them to close up shop. |

Halloween is believed to have originated in Ireland over 3,000 years ago!
The origins of your favorite candy-centered holiday may come from an ancient Celtic celebration marking the beginning of winter. During this celebration, it was believed that spirits had the ability to move between the worlds of the living and the dead. The Celtic people would disguise themselves in costumes to scare off the spirits, and the poor would travel door to door to offer prayers for the dead in exchange for food. Today, our beloved (and considerably more fun) tradition of “trick-or-treating” in costumes comes from these age-old Irish traditions!
